SMART GALLOPER DESTROYED
Pai Hoa Fractures Shoulder Riccarton lost one of its most promising maiden gallopers on Saturday. Pai Hoa was destroyed after fracturing a shoulder while exercising on the plough. Pai Hoa was a three-year-old gelding by Defaulter from Good Friend, owned by Mr F. R. Sides and raced on lease by his trainer, J. A. Cox. He raced once, finishing an unlucky second to Hopeful at Ashburr ton last spring. - He had to be put aside with a leg injury soon after, and was brought back into work a few weeks ag Cox has had bad luck with the best gallopers to join his stable. Terminus, a fast Airway gelding, fractured his pelvis in training. Cullen broke a leg in a race at Wingatui.
