Gilligan, made a brief visit to Suva late last month, he met Ilikena Bula, who the previous week had set a Fijian record by scoring 246. At the right is the noted author. Alee Waugh, who was “Bobby Southcott” in A. G. MacDonell’s magnificent cricket chapter in “England, Their England”—perhaps the best-loved and most amusing piece of cricket writing in the long history of the game.
