A. L. Millen of AucKland, Somerset Fair was in the ring some time before any money was offered The bidding was reluctant and he eventually went to . J Lawton. of Invercargill, tor SOOgns. Somerset Fair will go to Mr Lawton’s Hampton Lodge Stud, in Invercargill, where he will begin service next season. Top price paid for a brood mare was 250gns, which was given by Mr JJ. Moor, of Auckland, for the eight-year-old chestnut mare Fair Go, which was offered on account of Mrs M. Gingles, of Trentham. Best Price O* “x lot® of racing stock offered, MrT. C. Lowpr*s three-year-old filly. Creifit, brought the best price. Mr A. Broad, of Invercargill, bought her for 350gns, subject to the approval of Mr Lowry, who was not at the sale. The next best price was ZlOgns for the maiden performer. WestWellington He was bought by Mr G. Hooper, of Lower Hutt Three yearlings which were offered on the second day of the national sales on Wednesday were offered again but were all passed in.
