Papanui. on i the 20th day of November.-1958, resolved by way of Special Resolution to amend its By-Law 1934. /The Short Title of the proposed By-law amending the 1934 By-law is the "Waimairi County By-law. 1958 (No. 3),” the object and pur- . port of such By-law being as fol- , lows:— To revise the present County By-law covering the removal of Household Refuse, and to regulate the removal of Trade Refuse in the County. A further provision in the By-law makes it unlawful for any unauthorised person to disturb or remove any > article or material of any kind from any area or premises set aside by the Council for the disposal of refuse. This Prohibition applies to all Fires in the open, including Fires in drums and containers, and the period of Prohibition is to remain in force until a change of weather conditions allows for a relaxation. In place thereof the Council, will now operate a public rubbish dump in Smart’s Pit, Hornby, the entrance . being off Smarts road. This dump will be open to the public on week days from 8 a.m. to 5 pjn. and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 12 noon. An attendant will be in charge and . a fee of Is 6d per trailer and 2s 6d 1 per truck load for rubbish dumped ‘ will ote payable. ’ No charge will be made for . material which is deemed suitable for . covering purposes. Legal proceedings will be taken against any person found dumping rubbish on roadsides, and residents ’ are requested to advise the Council I Offices of the registered number of any vehicle from which rubbish is ■ dumped on roadsides in the County.
