NAPIER WOOL SALE

Optimistic Note At Close Napier’s second main wool sale of the season ended this afternoon on an optimistic note, with prices generally firmon Wednesday's market. They were officially quoted as very firm for medium and coarse crossbreds, and the finer wool was in sellers’ favour; Catalogues comprising 22,962 bales of greasy wool were submitted today to a fully representative bench of buyers, and the bidding was animated throughout the day. This information was contained in an official report issued after the sale by the Hawke’s Jay Woolbrokers’ Association, in conjunction with the New Zealand Woolbuyers’ Association and the New Zealand Wool Commission. The report said that the wools were drawn from a very large area of Hawke’s Bay and East Coast. All main clips showed the effects of the adverse- season.
