U.K. TRAWLERS OFF NORWAY
Norwegians Ask For Protection (Rec. 9.20 p.m.l OSLO. Jan. 23. Norwegian fishermen are demanding that armed Norwegian Naval vessels protect their grounds from British trawlers which they claim have been "attacking like pirates.” according to the American Associated Press. The North Norwegian Fishery Organisation made the call in a telegram .to the Norwegian Fishery Minister (Mr Nils Losoe). They also claim that the time is ripe tor Norway to extend her fishing limits. The Norwegian fishermen said that naval vessel* should replace the present unarmed civilian patrol boata to protect Norway’s fishing boundary and the equipment of local fishermen. They claim that on at least one occasion recently two British trawlers, almost ran down one of the Norwegian patrol vessels.
