TOWN HALL BALL
Elaborate preparations have been made for the Town Hall Floral Festival Ball, which will be held at the Addington trotting course kiosk on Tuesday, February 10, in the distinguished presence of their Excellencies the Governor-General and Viscountess Cobham. For some months past a strong committee has been at work organising this important event, which promises to be one of the outstanding social occasions of the year. In keeping with the spirit of the February Floral Festival, the floral decorations will be quite outstanding, while the supper arrangements will be on a scale fitting for a Vice-regal occasion. The music will be provided by the 13-piece 3YA dance band and the band of the Ist Canterbury Hegiment. In their preparations the committee has been greatly assisted by the willing co-operation of many firms and individuals, and substantial gifts in kind have been made. Double tickets, £5 ss, are obtainable at the inquiry desks of T. Armstrong and Co., Ltd., J. Ballantyne and Co„ Ltd., Beath and Co., Ltd., DJ.C, Ltd., N.Z. Farmers’ Co-op.
