COMMERCIAL Business Brisk On Stock Exchange
Business was brisk on the Christchurch Stock Exchange yesterday. Most prices maintained the firm tone of this week’s trading. New Zealand Refrigerating was down 3d in a reported sale of 140, but firmed on ’change when a parcel 'of 150 changed hands at 465.
Insurances kept up the recent stronger trend. National Insurance improved by 3d to sell in a. parcel of 155 at 24s 3d. Two parcels, of 100 each, of South British firmed by 6d to sell at 755. New Zealand Insurance stood steady at 74s 6d in a reported sale of 100. Broken Hill Pty. rose by 6d to sell at 42s 6d in a parcel of 150. In two sales, totalling 183, Hay’s rights improved Id to sell at 4s Id. Woolworths firmed by 2d to sell at 17s 3d in two sales. /
