TOTALISATOR FORGERY

£l4O Fine Imposed

(New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, January 22. Fines totalling £l4O, with £l5 costs, were today imposed on Frank Vonlanthen, aged 52, a hawker, by Mr G. J. Donne. S.M., on five charges of forgery and five of uttering totalisator tickets at the Auckland Trotting Club’s first night meeting on December 31. The Magistrate said he was acceding to the submission of Mr M. Robinson, Vonlanthen’s counsel. for imposition of a fine, but to mark the seriousness of the offences he ordered immediate payment, in default a total of a 100 days’ gaol.
