WATERING OF GARDENS

Restrictions lit Wycola Area The Ministry of Works, under contract to the Paparua County Council, has started on major improvement work to the Roberts road pumping station, to increase the output of the unit. It will be out of operation for about .10 days, and the council has urged that the present water restrictions in the Wycola housing block, Sockburn, be rigidly kept. During the time the Roberts road station is out of action the block will be dependent on the Wycola water supply station, and to ensure an adequate distribution of water for domestic purposes it is essential that the restrictions on garden hosing be complied with. Hosing of gardens and lawns is only permitted between the hours of 7 p.m. and 8 p.m., on alternate nights. Gardeners south of Wycola avenue are allowed to water today and alternate days, while those to the north can water tomorrow and alternate days after that.
