MOSS TO DRIVE NEW CAR

(N.Z. Press Association —Copyright) LONDON, January 14. Stirling Moss, runner-up in the racing drivers’ world championship, will drive a new British grand prix car in the Grand Prix of Monaco, a world championship event, at Monte Carlo on May 10, it was announced today. The car consists of a 1959 Formula I Cooper chassis, steering and suspension, into which will be fitted a 250 h.p., 2J litre. Formula I, grand prix B.R.M. engine. The power of this engine will be transmitted through a five-speed gearbox designed specially for the new car.

Tanker Diverted.—The American Antarctic tanker Nespelen has been diverted from Lyttelton to Dunedin on its passage north from McMurdo Sound. It will dry dock at Dunedin for repairs and later load fuel and return south.
