Hallett Base Building.—Construction of a naw communications building is under way at the joint American-New Zealand Antarctic base on Cape Hallett. Unloading of supplies to provision the base fpr a further year’s occupation is now complete and the United States Navy transport Arneb is now standing by awaiting construction crews to finish their job before leaving with icebreaker escort for McMurdo Sound.
