Lawn Tennis Cooper Wins First Paid Match
(N.Z. Press Association—Cowright) MELBOURNE, January 15. The Wimbledon champion. Ashley Cooper, won his first singles match as a professional when he beat Ken Rosewall. 6-8, 6-3, 6-4. The win gave Cooper fifth place in the tournament, and £4OO prize money.
Pancho Gonzales and Frank Sedgman will play off for first place tonight, and Pancho Segura and Lew Hoad contest third place.
