continued quiet on the Christchurch btock Exchange yesterday. Prices were variable in the transactions reported. Selling at the same price as on Wednesday, 100 New Zealand Insurance changed hands at 71s 3d. There was also a reported sale of 500 snares at the same price.

Mutual Life.—The Mutual Life and Citizens’ Assurance Company, Ltd., has announced that the new business written in Australia and New Zealand was again a record in 1958.
