Sales Drop

There are signs that the popularity of the moped is declining slightly ip Europe after a long and successful reign. In Germany, the home of the machine, the sales last year showed an appreciable drop in the first six months’ trading. This may have been only a temporary recession, however, as there seems to be a tremendous market for this type of machine as an alternative to the bicycle and public transport. < It also a certain amount of appeal to those who would like to have a motor-cycle but are unable to afford it. Manufacturers in England claim, however, that the production of mopeds is supplementary to bicycles and that the manufacture of cycles will not be affected by an increase in the cycle market.
