Offer To Meckiff Denied

Accrington, the Lancashire League cncKet club denied today that it had made a £lOOO offer to lan Meckiff. the Australian fast bowler, to play for Accrington in the next northern summer The club treasurer (Mr Harold Chadwick) said: ‘While our club wants to sign big international cricket names, MeckifT is not among the players the committee so far has considered. “If Meckiff is Interested in entering English league cricket Accrington certainly would consider making him an offer,” he said. _
