NOXIOUS WEEDS SPRAYED FROM THE UR.—Skimming along at 70 miles an hour at a height of only 12 feet, this Piper aircraft sprayed irrigation channels in the Ashburton County on Tuesday afternoon in an effort to halt noxious weed growth. This was the first time that aerial spraying of irrigation races had been carried out in Canterbury. The aircraft, piloted by Mr Malcolm Corich, is shown spraying one of the channels near Ashburton.
