TWO GRASS FIRES

Two grass fires, which caused no damage, were the only calls received by city fire brigades yesterday.

The first call at 2.48 pun. was to a grass fire at 87 Memorial avenue, occupied by Mr J. E Roth era. Units from the Central and St. Albans fire brigades and the Waimairi County Council water tender attended. The other grass fire was on a vacant section in Te Awa Kura terrace; St Andrew’s Hill, owned by Mr H. Bennett. Units from the Central and Woolston fire brigades attended at 4.11 pm.
