Function For Mr C. M. Bennett

(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, January 12. Members of the Maori community in Wellington Will attend a service at Ngati Poneke Hall next Sunday morning, after which Mr C. M. Bennett, High Commissioner - designate to Malaya, and Mrs Bennett will be bidden farewell The Rev. King! Ihaka, who is in charge of the Wellington Maori Pastorate, will preside. Mr and Mrs Bennett will leave by air for Auckland on January 23, and from there will proceed to their new home to Kuala Lumpur, by way of Sydney and Singapore. Mr Bennett hopes to present his credentials before the end of the month, and will hold his first reception on February 6, Waitangi Day. Since his return from England, Mr Bennett has been in constant consultation with officials of the Department of External Affairs.
