Nelson and the West Coast: Moderate winds from a northerly quarter; weather overcast, with periods of drizzle and rain; temperatures mild. Outlook: little change.

Marlborough, except the Kaikoura coast: Moderate north-westerly winds; weather cloudy, with scattered showers; temperatures warm. Outlook: scattered showers. Canterbury: Light to moderate variable winds; weather mainly cloudy, with some coastal drizzle at times and afternoon showers, but some fair periods inland; warm temperatures inland, moderate to mild elsewhere. Outlook: isolated showers.
