Chess Foulds Leading In N.Z. Tournament

HAMILTON, January 2. The natiopal chess championship being held in Hamilton went into the fifth round today. The lead in the championship is held by F. M. A. Foulds (Auckland) with 4J points. Results of today’s play were:— B. H. P. Marsick (1) lost to J. E. Ersken (31); F. A. Foulds (41) beat T. Lepviikman (0); B. C. Menzies (4) beat W. Bello (2); Z. Frankel (2j) lost to F. P. Hutchings (21); T. Van Dijk (3) beat C. P. Belton (3).
