Situation: A south-westerly airstream covers the South Island. A ridge of high pressure is spreading on to the southwest Tasman Sea. Forecast:— West Coast: Fresh south-west winds; a few showers, but weather mainly fair, with moderate temperatures. Nelson: Fresh south-west winds at first, becoming variable during the day; weather fair, with moderate temperatures. Outlook: fair. Marlborough: Fresh south-west winds; fair weather, with cool to moderate temperatures. Outlook: fair. Canterbury: Moderate to fresh south-west winds near the coast; variable winds inland; some showers early, hut weather clearing and becoming fair with cool to moderate temperatures. Outlook: fair.
