Manawatu Wins By Six Wickets
(Nt*w Zealand Press Association i • PALMERSTON NORTH, Dec. 30. | After being 19 runs behind on the first innings, Manawatu scored a comfortable victory against the touring New Zealand Universities team J .n a representative cricket match at Palmerston North today. New Zealand Universities scored 268 for nine wickets declared, and 138. and Manawatu replied with 249 and 160 for four wickets. The young right-hand batsman from Horowhenua, G. Lawton, was in splendid form today to score 87 not out. Manawatu, requiring 157 runs to win. compiled their 160 runs in 127 minutes. Scores:— NEW ZEALAND UNIVERSITIES
