LATIMER SQUARE PARKING

Change To Parallel On West Side Angle parking on the west side of Latimer square will be abolished and parallel parking substituted. The City Council made this 'decision last evening after the Traffic Superintendent (Mr G. P. Kellar) had reported on an investigation of angle parking in the square.

Madras ' street carried a very heavy volume of traffic, particularly in the northerly direction, Mr Kellar said, and the traffic had to negotiate Latimer Square, which had angle parking allowed on both east and west sides. There was also a lot of traffic going east along Hereford street and then turning north on the west side of Latimer square. With angle parking on that side, Mr Kellar considered that the usable roadway was reduced to dangerous proportions, particularly when long vehicles were angle parked.
