PAPANUI’S NEW POLICE STATION, which the Ministry of Works will hand over to the Police Department today. It is situated on Papanui road, three doors south of Blighs road, and replaces the old station in St. James avenue, which will be retained as a police residence. The new building has a sergeant’s office and two other offices. Behind the station and across a small stream is a new brick house, which Sergeant F. G. Heywood, of Timaru, who has been appointed to Papanui, will occupy next month. Sergeant F. Flannagan has been temporarily in charge of Papanui.
