NEW TRIAL REFUSED

The executors of the estate of Alfred Joseph William Inkson, a sheepfarmer, of Waikari, who was killed when the vehicle he was driving attempted to cross the main north railway line and was hit by a rail-car, were refused a new trial in a claim against the Attorney-General, in a written judgment given in the Supreme Court yesterday. A motion for a new trial was made on the ground that certain answers of the jury were against the weight of evidence.

The accident occurred on May 23, 1957, and Inkson was accompanied by his wife, who was also killed. The jury found that Inkson was responsible for 66$ per cent, of the negligence and the driver of the rail-car for 33j per cent.
