ATOMIC TRAINING CENTRE SOUGHT
CAIRO. The Egyptian Atomic Energy Commission has proposed to the International Atomic Energy Agency that the Middle East and African radioisotope training centre be established in Cairo, the newspaper “Al Ahram” reports. The regional training centres envisaged by the agency include one for the Middle East and African zone. There have been various suggestions for setting it up in Egypt, Turkey or Greece, said the paper. In its proposal to the United Nations, the. Commission pointed out that Egypt is better equipped than either Greece or Turkey for the operation of the projected centre, “Al Ahram” added. Two experts from the agency are expected in Cairo for discussion of the matter with the authorities.— Reuter.
