The service was held at Holy Trinity Church, Lyttelton, and at the Church of England cemetery. The only ship worked at Lyttelton yesterday was the steamerexpress Hinemoa. Mails, luggage and cars were unloaded in the morning and loaded in the evening. Nineteen tons of perishable cargo which had been loaded a* Wellington on Thursday was also discharged. No work' was done on other ships because of the decision of the Waterfront Employees’ Union to take the day off to attend the funeral of Mr Rhind
Today the waterside employees will work, as usual, till midday. They will also work extended hours this afternoon on four vessels which are to sail today. They are the Melbourne Star, the Port Wanstead, the Karamu, and the steamer-express Maori.
