MINIATURE RIFLE SHOOTING
Wellington Retains R.S.A. Cup (New Zealand. Press Association) WELLINGTON, December 10. The Wellington provincial miniature rifle team has retained the B.S.A. Cup with a record score of 3992. Each of the 20 in the team fired 20 shots, each over 25 yards. The Wellington Smallbore Rifle Association has received advice from England of the results of the postal shoot for the cup, which is open to all associations in the British Commonwealth. Wellington won the cup for the first time last year with a score of 3987—0ne less than the then record of 3988 put up by Surrey some years ago. The Wellington provincial team includes one woman, Mrs H. B.
Cave, the wife of the New Zealand cricket representative. The runner-up to Wellington this year was the Christchurch provincial team (3990 points), with the Surrey and Warwickshire (England) teams In equal third place with 3985 points, Otago, with 3977, was one of four teams sharing seventh place.
