BURNSIDE HIGH SCHOOL
Plan Approved By Council
Now that the Christchurch Post-priipary Schools’ Council had removed its objection to the use of the Nelson-type plan for the proposed Burnside High School, and had fully endorsed the Education Department’s proposals for two-storey buildings on Memorial avenue, tenders would be called at the earliest moment, said a letter from the department received at a meeting of the council last evening. The chairman of the council (Mr W. J. Cartwright) said that the council had objected to the original plan but had decided to endorse a modified plan with the buildings sited to give a better appearance and with a treble entrance on Greers road instead of a single entrance.
This siting plan has now been sent by the department to the Ministry of Works.
