Average Price Of Wool

The over-all average price ofi 41.16 d per lb of greasy wool sold at auction in New Zealand in the 1957-58 season showed a decrease of 13.6 d per lb compared with the 1956-57 average price of 54.76 d. and was the lowest average realisation per lb since the 1951-52 season. Total greasy wool production at 496 million lb in the 195758 season was a record, being 1 per cent, greater than the previous record of 491 million lb tn 1956-57. The 1957-58 total production was worth £85.1m compared with £ll2m in 1956-57 and £ 68.2 m in 1951-52.
