Costs And Wages
Sir, —I was amused to read Mr Walsh’s statement to the North Island Waterside Workers’ Association in which he predicted a rise in the price of consumer goods due, among other things, to the Wool Board buying at floor prices. Perhaps Mr Walsh can inform us as to how much woollen goods in the shops have dropped in price since the - 40 per cent, fall in wool prices over the last year. I think not a penny. —Yours, etc., A.D.N. November 21, 1958.
