Icebreaker To Arrive At Lyttelton On Monday

Advice has been received from the United States Deepfreeze office in Christchurch that the icebreaker. Staten Island, will arrive at Lyttelton from New Plymouth at 9 a.m. on Monday. The icebreaker will take in a small amount of stores, also fuel oil. A party of 12 men, under the New Zealand Geological Survey, with H. J. Harrington as leader, will embark at Lyttelton. The Staten Island is to sail from Lyttelton on Tuesday for the Antarctic. Karu Puts Back The Union Steam Ship Company’s motor-ship. Karu. which sailed from Lyttelton at 2.17 p.m. yesterday for Bluff, put back at 5.33 p.m. for minor engine repairs. She is to sail again for Bluff this morning.
