House, replied to a complaint m 1 the “Financial Times” by Mr S i Ackerman about New Zealand! trade restrictions. Mr Ackerman.j said Mr Campbell, had mentioned' falls in the price of New Zea-1 land produce in Britain and cnti-i ciscd import restrictions in New! Zealand “It seems to be the old ques-i tion of the chicken and the egg " i said Mr Campbell. “In our view the fall in prices of New Zealand' dairy produce and wool is the reason why New Zealand cannot] buy the quantity of goods from ( the United Kingdom she would! like. Therefore a policy of im-( port selection is being implemented.” Mr Ackerman’s Letter In lus letter to the “Financial. Times." Mr Ackerman, a director ot a British manufacturing company. said: “It was interesting to read your report of Mr Skinner coming!
