GENERAL PAY RISE

Lack Of Claim “Disappointing” (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, November 19. The Public Service Association is disappointed that no action is being taken by any appropriate organisation to lodge a general wage claim before the Arbitration Court. The Dominion executive committee of the association, at a meeting last night, which was also attended by the chairmen of the Auckland, Waikato, Wellington, Canterbury and Otago sections and by the association's two honorary vice-presidents, adopted without dissent the following motion, says a supplied report: “That this augmented executive committee expresses its disappointment that no action is being taken by any appropriate organisation to lodge a general wage claim before the Arbitration Court and records its opinion, already declared some months ago, that in view of the increased cost of living a general wage increase is overdue.”
