Association To Take No Action

(.Vein Zealand Press Association f WELLINGTON. Nov. 18. The New Zealand Olympic and Empire Games Association will lake no action against the Canterbury swimmer. Colin McFadden. who travelled to Cardiff with the Empire Games team this year, but did not compete because of illness. It was learned later that McFadden had suffered from illness for some years. At a meeting of the association tonight the chairman (Mr H. I. Austad) and the swimming representative (Mr J. B. Cotterill) agreed McFadden would not have been sent t<» Cardiff if the association had known of his illness. “We have achieved something by airing the case.’’ said Mr Cotterill. ‘‘Similar cases should not now occur.” Mr J. W. Onglcy moved that the matter be dropped and his motion was carried.
