COMMERCIAL Business Again Slack On ’Change
The Christchurch Stock Exchange was again inactive yesterday, with only six different stocks in business. Prices were variable.
Golden Bay Cement were 4ld firmer in a sale of 300 at 8s 71d, and 1.C.1. (A.N.Z.) were also in better business with a sale at 525. Woolworths were easier at 17s 3d. Bank of New South Wales rights and Cox Brothers were steady.
There was no morning call on ’change yesterday, because of the death on Monday of Mr Denys Hoare, a member of the Christchurch Stock Exchange from 1917.
