AIR TERMINAL AT RONGOTAI
Contract To Convert Building “The Press" Special Service WELLINGTON, November 18. All services required for air passengers, including a cafeteria and dining-room facilities, are incorporated in the temporary terminal facilities which will be provided at Rongotai airport by the conversion of the building at present occupied by the de Havilland company. The Wellington City Council has accepted the tender which was in excess of ,£35.000, of the West Coast Construction Company, Ltd., of Paraparaumu, for the work. The contractors are expected to start on December 1. The conversion of the building has been planned, and it will be laid out in such a manner that it will require only a few adjustments to make it also suitable for trans-Tasman services, which also require facilities for Customs officers and other departmental officers.
