£3500 Offered In Prizes “The Press” Special Service AUCKLAND, Nov. 3. ; The Health Department is offering £3500 in prize money in an architectural competition for designs’for a new St. Helens maternity hospital in Auckland. The four prizes will be of £l5OO, £lOOO, £6OO, and £4OO. The design for the 60-bed hospital will be required to conform to a maximum construction cost of £450,000, but apart from this restriction competitiors will have practically a free hand. Their designs also will include a nurses’ home, domestic quarters, boilerhouse, laundry and kitchen. The decision to hold the competition was made last year because the architectural staff of the Ministry of Works was fully occupied.

Parade of Fashion.—A fashion show was given recently by seven members of the Richmond Plunket Mothers’ Club to raise funds for the Karitane building fund.
