115 In New Zealand ; (New Zeaiana Press Association/ : WELLINGTON. November 3. . ! There are 115 homes and hospitals for old people in New Zea-! I land, accommodating 2163 men and 2058 women, according to a survey made by the Department of Health. Religious organisations operate 63 of the homes, caring for 855 men and 1218 women. Other voluntary organisations provide 24 homes <484 men and 336 women), and hospital boards pro- : vide 28 homes (824 men and 504 women). In 66 towns there are 73 clubs catering for the social activities ■of old people. Enrolled membership of the clubs is about 12.200.. but only about 5000 of the old I people appear to take an active! part in the social functions pro-* t vided.
