F. H. Skelton To Ride Flair

“The Press" Special Service INVERCARGILL, October 30. Flair will be ridden in the New Zealand Cup by the Invercargill horseman F H. Skelton. The Instinct horse was troubled with a bruised foot after winning at Winton, but he did not miss any work, and has made a complete recovery. At Invercargill this morning he did strong work over two rounds on the inside grass finishing up the last mile in Imin 48 2-ssec. the last half in 50 2-ssec Skelton has not ridden Flair in his racing this season. G. W. Wright rode him in the New Zealand Cup last season, in which he finished third.

The Invercargill apprentice. L. M. Casey, has been engaged to ride the North Island sprinter, Royal Guy, in the Stewards’ Handicap. J. M. Cappie will ride Ettrick John in the Stewards’ and Milord and Cassius in their Riccarton engagements. Ettrick John, which was an unlucky second at Gore, finished seventh in the Stewards’ last vear. Struan was taken through to Riccarton todav. He will be ridden at the Cup meeting by F. H. Skelton.
