Japan’s first guided missiles for operational use—air-to-air Sidewinder missiles—will be delivered by the United States next January. Recently the Japanese Government received advice from the United States Military Assistance advisory group in Tokyo that 14 Sidewinders were scheduled to be handed over to Japan next January. The Japanese Defence Board said it was planning to purchase an additional 90 to 100 Sidewinders during the next financial year: Dogs as Human Eye Banks.— French Army surgeons claim to have successfully grafted the corneas from the eyes of dogs to humans.
