INTERNATIONAL TIN PRICE
A'o Change To Be Made (N.Z. Press Association—Copyright/ LONDON, Sept. 25 The International Tin Council (on which Australia is represented) today decided to make no change in the present tin price range at which the buffer-stock manager can operate on the market. A statement issued after a meeting in London said: “The council did not consider it necessary to discuss the floor price of £730 sterling and no change was made in the present price range ” At the same time, the council unanimously endorsed the statement issued by its chairman (Monsieur Georges Peter) on September 18—after the withdrawal of buffer pool support on the London Metal Exchange. In this, he reaffirmed that the International Tin Agreement would continue in force. According to the statement, the council affirmed its full confidence in the agreement and the will of all members to support it
Potato Shipments
Up to last Saturday 355,145 sacks of potatoes had been shipped from Lyttelton. 25,548 in the last fortnight. Details of shipments to various ports for the fortnight, with season’s totals in parenthesis, are:—
