Youths Admitted To Probation

(New Zealana Press Association) WELLINGTON, Sept. 25.

Two youths, both aged 16, appeared in the Children’s Court yesterday facing charges of car conversiori, breaking and entering, and theft. Both were admitted to probation for three years, and were ordered to make restitution of £lOO. Both youths were ordered to abstain from intoxicating liquor. This last order was a sad commentary on youth, when it had to be made against a 16-year-old, said Mr W. H. Carson, S.M. The Magistrate said that there must be firm control over the youths by their parents. “You are on the brink of borstal ; for offences such as these,’’ he said.
