Situation: An anti-cyclone is moving eastward over the North Island and a north-westerly airstream covers the South Island. Forecast:— ' .West Coast: Winds moderate to fresh northerlies; cloudy skies with occasional rain in south Westland and some scattered drizzle later in the day in north Westland; moderate temperatures. Outlook: occasional rain. Nelson and Marlborough: Moderate to fresh north or north-west winds; weather cloudy about the Sounds, otherwise fair to fine, with moderate or mild afternoon temperatures. Outlook: cloudy. Canterbury: Moderate north-easterly winds near the coast, north-westerlies freshening inland; weather fair; moderate to mild afternoon temperatures. Outlook: fair.
