GIRL GUIDE RALLY

2000 Expected To Attend A Girl Guide rally will be held at English Park on October 4 Guides, Brownies and Rangers from all of the Canterbury province will congregate in the morning and in the afternoon the chief commissioner for New Zealand (Miss R. Herrick) will salute the march-past of the 2000 girls expected to be present. A rally of this nature has not been held for some years but the organisers feel that guiding needs to be brought into the public view so that it realises the importance of the movement throughout the world.

During the afternoon a display of guiding activities will be given for visitors and the highlight of the day will come when the girls form a human world guide badge in the arena.

Guides in the 10-14 age group will be given a talk in the early part of the day by an air force officer.
