A resurgence of wheat production is taking place. It seems that in the future Canterbury could again play the dominant role of wheat producer for New Zealand.
A VANISHING SlGHT.—Stacking wheat in the days of the threshing mills was a common sight in Canterbury but with the header, it is becoming rare. The photograph shows the capping of the stack with a stook with each sheaf being passed up from the dray by a man on a ladder.
