TRADE WITH JAPAN
Mission’s Visit Next Month (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, September 25. The Japanese Ambassador (Mr H. Shimadzu) said today that a trade mission headed by Mr Chubei Itoh, special assistant to the Japanese Minister of Foreign Affairs and president of Toyo Pulp Company, will visit New Zealand from October 11 to October 19 to carry out research into the expanding market for Japanese products. Mr Itoh will be accompanied by Mr Motoji Hisano, managing director of the Tokyo Shibaura Electric Company; Mr Yasu Kimaru, managing director of the Hitachi Shipbuilding and Engineering Company; Mr Hisao Kubo, chief of export division, Hitachi Ltd.; Mr Hironobu Tamate, deputy chief of purchasing division, Japan Wool Textile Company; Mr Bonro Kuyoshino, chief of sterling area section of the Economic Affairs Bureau of the Japanese Foreign Office; Mr Toshio Ohki, of the heavy industries section, Ministry of International Trade and Industry and Mi Isao Soejima, private secretary to Mr Itoh.
In Wellington the members of the mission will discuss with New Zealand Government officials practical measures for enlarging two-way trade. The trade mission expects to meet interested commercial organisations in the Wellington district on October 13 and 14 and similar groups in Auckland on October 17.
