Dilossa Injured

The Southland-owned mare, Diloss a, will be off the scene for some months. An X-ray examination of a leg has disclosed a cracked bone in a foot. A special splint has been applied to the leg and it is thought possible she may be able to race in about six months. Dilossa was a last-start winner over two miles at Addington on August 23, beating Battle Fling and Great Dillon in the Improvers’ Handicap, She had been sore since that run and her trainer, F. E. Newfield, thinks she must have injured her foot during the race.
