Three Missing Girls Found
Three of five girls the police have been searching for since the week-end have been found. They are Anne Lawson, aged 15, who was missing since last Saturday night, and June Murray, aged 15, and Maureen Hammond, aged 14,' who left their homes in Dunedin last Friday and were located in Wellington on Monday. • Two other girls who disappeared from their homes in Christchurch on Saturday are still missing. They are Madeline Paintin, aged 16, and Stephanie Small, aged 14. The police are making general inquiries for these two missing girls. Transport terminals are being watched, and descriptions of the girls have been sent to all police stations.
Life-saving Medal.—A medal to be known as the Kingsland Memorial Medal has been instituted by the council of the Royal Life-Saving Society for the award-holder of the society who makes the most meritorious
rescue from drowning during the year. The medal iis in memory of Mr Arthur J. Kingsland, who died in May last year in London, and who gave many years of service to the Southland sub-branch of the society. The institution of the medal was made possible by a legacy from Mr Kingsland.
